About Us – Brontë Therapy

At Brontë Therapy, we believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, respected, and understood. Our service provides a confidential, safe, and non-judgemental environment where people can explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences with the support of a trained therapist.

We are committed to providing compassionate, inclusive counselling that helps individuals better understand themselves and move towards meaningful change.

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly with a therapist about your feelings, emotions, and behaviours.

Our counsellors work alongside you to explore and process your thoughts and experiences, helping you gain a deeper understanding of your emotions, patterns, and responses. Through this process, counselling can help you develop new perspectives, strengthen your coping skills, and find your own solutions to the challenges you face.

At Brontë Therapy, we focus on creating a space that is inclusive, compassionate, and respectful, ensuring that everyone who seeks support feels valued and understood.

Our Vision

Our vision is to make high-quality counselling accessible to everyone who needs it.

We believe that mental health support should not be limited by background, identity, or financial circumstances. Brontë Therapy aims to provide a service where people from all communities can access safe, professional counselling and feel supported in their personal growth and wellbeing.

As our service grows, we continue to develop and adapt to meet the diverse needs of the communities we support.

Our Values

At Brontë Therapy, our work is guided by the following core values:

Compassion
We approach every person with empathy, warmth, and genuine care.

Respect
We honour each person’s experiences, identity, and individual journey.

Inclusivity
We strive to create a welcoming space where everyone feels safe and valued.

Confidentiality
Your privacy and trust are fundamental to the counselling relationship.

Accessibility
We believe everyone should have access to high-quality counselling regardless of their circumstances.

Counselling We Offer

We offer one-to-one weekly remote counselling sessions for adults aged 18 and over who may be experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges or other personal difficulties.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are delivered online, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

We offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, with the number of sessions agreed between you and your counsellor.

Our therapists work using a range of approaches including:

  • Person-Centred Counselling
  • Integrative Counselling
  • Psychodynamic Counselling
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Some of our counsellors are qualified practitioners, while others are currently in professional training. All therapists receive regular supervision from qualified counsellors, ensuring safe and ethical practice.

Our service also welcomes individuals experiencing a range of life challenges, including those affected by domestic violence, whether as victims or perpetrators seeking support.

Eligibility

Our counselling service is available to adults aged 18 and over who may be facing a wide range of emotional or psychological challenges.

However, Brontë Therapy is not a crisis or specialist service, and in some circumstances other services may be more appropriate. Our priority is always to ensure that you receive the support that is right for your needs.

At this time, we are unable to offer counselling to individuals and couples who are:

  • Currently experiencing a mental health crisis
  • Seeking specialist support for PTSD
  • Living with a diagnosed personality disorder
  • Living with a diagnosis of schizophrenia
  • Living with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder
  • Currently experiencing symptoms of psychosis
  • Couples seeking relationship counselling

If you require support in any of these areas, we encourage you to connect with specialist services that are best equipped to provide the care you deserve. You can access futher resources from the button bellow

Brontë Therapy is dedicated to providing a supportive, professional counselling service where people feel safe to explore their experiences, build self-understanding, and move towards positive change.

Personalized Therapeutic Approach

We believe therapy works best when it feels personal, gentle, and led by you. Our sessions are shaped around your needs, your experiences, and what feels important to you at the time. We work at your pace, offering a calm and supportive space where you don’t need to mask, perform, or have everything figured out. Together, we can explore what feels difficult while also noticing your strengths, in a way that feels safe and manageable

An Integrative and Neurodiversity-Affirming Way of Working

We work integratively, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as CBT and person-centred therapy, and adapting them to suit you as an individual. We are mindful that everyone thinks, feels, and processes the world differently — particularly those who are neurodivergent, including people with ADHD. Sessions are flexible and responsive, with space for creativity, movement, reflection, or structure where helpful. Our aim is to support you in ways that feel accessible, compassionate, and realistic for your everyday life.

An Inclusive, Calm, and Supportive Space

We offer a welcoming, non-judgemental space where you are accepted as you are. This is a space that respects difference and values individuality, whether related to neurodiversity, identity, or life experience. You don’t need the “right” words or a clear starting point, we can take things slowly, in a way that feels comfortable for you. Our hope is that you feel listened to, understood, and supported throughout your therapeutic journey. Our values are Compassion, Respect, Inclusivity, Confidentiality & Accessibility

What Our Clients Say

Our clients’ testimonials speak volumes about our services and commitment. Get an insight into their experiences.

Charlotte is an incredibly compassionate and skilled counsellor who creates a safe, supportive space to talk openly without judgement. She listens with genuine care and insight, helping you feel understood while gently guiding you toward clarity and growth. Her calm, professional approach makes even difficult conversations feel manageable. I’m very grateful for her support and would highly recommend Charlotte to anyone looking for a thoughtful and trustworthy counsellor.

Charlotte has been my counsellor for about 10 weeks now, and she helped get me through a particularly tough time, navigating divorce with 2 children, and the beginnings of a new and complicated relationship, as well as some other issues. Charlotte is compassionate, caring, a great listener, and uses her natural empathy and counselling skills to provide invaluable support and allowing me greater insight into issues and emotions. I would thoroughly recommend her as a counsellor.

Discover Brontë Therapy

Brontë Therapy is rooted in both name and nature. Named after the Brontë sisters, whose writing explored emotional depth, resilience, and the inner lives of others, Brontë reflects a longstanding connection to empathy, sensitivity, and understanding human experience. This meaning is mirrored in the elephant—an animal known for profound emotional intelligence, memory, and compassion. Elephants grieve, protect one another, and respond to distress with remarkable attentiveness. In the same way, Brontë Therapy is founded on empathy, emotional safety, and the belief that healing begins when we are deeply seen, understood, and held with care.
